Program Areas

The work carried out by SALDEF is broadly categorized into 3 areas: Legal Defense and Advocacy, Education and Media Relations. Although many of the issues which are raised fall into more than one category, below is a description of each area.

Legal Defense and Advocacy – Defending the civil rights and representing the interests of Sikhs

Education – Raising awareness about and understanding of Sikh Americans

Media Relations – Proactively reaching out to the media and monitoring misrepresentations of Sikhs
