But how do we invest in our Sikh American youth? How do we help these young people transform into the leaders and change makers of tomorrow? How do we ensure that these young Sikh Americans have the skills and resources they need to lead our community into the future with success?
The SikhLEAD initiative, seeks to develop the next generation of Sikh American changemakers. SikhLEAD helps Sikh American youth build relationships in Washington D.C. that will help ensure our community has future leaders who can protect our current freedoms and increase our visibility in civic life in America. But, we NEED your help. We humbly ask for your guidance and support to expand this leadership program. Our goal is to raise $50,000 for the SikhLEAD program by the end of April. Thus far we have raised $10,220. Can we count on your support to help us meet this challenge? Consider that a contribution of:
- $500 will cover an interns travel costs to and from DC
- $1500 will cover the stipend for one student
- $3000 will help SALDEF build a program that brings more Sikh American youth to DC than any other minority group
